Connie Talbot
Connie Talbot is a six year old singer from Streetly, Walsall, England. She started singing aged 18 months.
She appeared on the television reality show Britain's Got Talent, singing Judy Garland's Over The Rainbow during the audition stage. "I will win Britain's Got Talent in memory of my Nan" she vowed. Her nan died from breast cancer two years ago, and Connie's mother said: "She loved the old films and the one we would watch all the time was The Wizard of Oz." Connie performed "Over the Rainbow at her Nan's funeral. Joint favourite to win the show with opera singer Paul Potts, on the night of the final the viewers preferred Potts, who was voted winner of the show.
Show judge Piers Morgan called her "pound for pound, inch for inch, the best 6-year-old singer in the world." Simon Cowell told her, "I just adore you man." She made it to the final of the show. Connie says she is excited to sing again "in front of all those people" and says, "I know my nan is always watching me on stage so I don’t get nervous and I'm very confident".
She has one sister, Mollie Johnson and a brother, Joshuan.
